Tanya LaMar (she/her)
Tanya LaMar is a Ph.D. Candidate at the Stanford GSE studying Mathematics Education and advised by Jo Boaler. She is a recipient of the Clayman Instutite’s Marjorie Lozoff Award for Research on Women and Gender for her dissertation work on gender equity in data science and a Senior Fellow with the Knowles Teaching Initiative. She currently works as a research assistant for youcubed. Before coming to Stanford, Tanya taught high school Mathematics at Augustus F. Hawkins High School in South Central Los Angeles, Ca. She holds a Masters’ degree in the Teaching of Mathematics from Stanford University and a B.S in Mathematics from California State University, Long Beach. In her free time, Tanya enjoys playing with her two cats, snow skiing, and spending time with friends and family.
